JENNI GOES TO THE DOGS
By Jeannette Voss

PNNC member Jenni Lott and her husband Brad Amers are really going to the dogs in a big way. Jenni and Brad have recently opened Cascade Pet Camp for business. Located just outside of Hood River, the facility will provide dog and cat boarding, doggy day care, and dog training classes.

Shauna Bryant and I wanted to get a look at the new facility, which was still having the finishing touches applied to it when we visited with Jenni on November 3rd. Jenni, Brad & family have been “camping” on the grounds while the two sizeable buildings have been under construction. When we arrived Jenni was just concluding a class in the training building. The building is 6,000 square feet, with fully-matted (3/4” rubber) floors and lots of room to do different kinds of activities with dogs. In addition to the training area the building also includes Jenni and Brad’s new home. Imagine being able to walk out your back door and into a climate-controlled playground for you and your dog(s)! I can’t speak for Shauna, but I was really envious.

The other building, a short hike from the training facility, is set up for boarding and day care. All the accommodations have heated floors, raised cots or beds, comforting music and daily “maid service.” There will be indoor kennels in more of a “group” area, or your dog can have his own deluxe “cabin” with a television, and some also have their own outdoor patio area. “Campers” will receive plenty of group or individual exercise and attention from the “camp counselors”. The cat boarding room will feature a large aquarium to keep the cats entertained. The building has all sorts of high-tech equipment to help things run smoothly. Everything looked state-of-the-art, and we really enjoyed our “tour”. It’s nice to know there is an option available staffed with newf-knowledgeable people if you need to board your dog.

Thanks to Jenni for a fun afternoon. If you’d like more info you can go to their website: www.CascadePetCamp.com, or give them a call at 541-354-CAMP (2267).
